How the Cover Came to Be
I knew from the beginning that I wanted a white raven prominently on the cover, so I began searching the internet for images. I wanted something slightly ghostly and abstract. I came across an amazing pencil drawing of a black crow from artist Helen Lloyd, who specializes in animal portraits. After looking at her work on her website, I knew she was the one who could create the ideal image. The cover she designed captures the ethereal elements of the Veil, and of Aven always turning around only to find the white raven flying away from her. What am I talking about? Well, you’ll just have to read the book.
